APMA and HealthFusion Partner to deliver EHR Benefits to More Than 12,000 Podiatric Physicians
Bethesda, Maryland — (Marketwire – January 11, 2012) — The American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) and HealthFusion® have entered into a Membership Benefit Agreement to promote the adoption of electronic health records (EHRs) within the Podiatric medical community. The use of Certified EHRs advances quality of care and allows medical providers to qualify for Medicare and Medicaid EHR incentive stimulus funds.
“Selecting an EHR that is cloud-based, HIPAA compliant, native to the Apple iPad®, and can be used on any PC or laptop, was important in our decision to enter into this exciting agreement. HealthFusion’s MediTouch® is an EHR that is easy to use, adapts to the doctor’s workflow, and has achieved the APMA Seal of Acceptance. The APMA serves its members in many ways, including researching the latest state-of-the art technology to improve patient care, and introducing special benefits to our members,” said Michael King, DPM, president of APMA.
“MediTouch has unique Podiatric features such as MediDraw™ which allows Podiatrists to take a picture of the lower extremity with a smart phone or iPad2, and upload it into the patients’ electronic chart, and draw on it. These features along with the affordable cost, and HealthFusion’s recognition by J.D. Power and Associates® for providing an Outstanding Customer Service Experience are some of the reasons we believe our Agreement with the APMA will assist the Podiatric community in advancing the US national agenda of using EHRs,” said Dr. Sol Lizerbram, Chairman of HealthFusion.
MediTouch is an EHR conceived by doctors for doctors and designed for practices of all sizes. The software offers the fastest, most intuitive, touch screen charting interface with quality features such as Podiatric specific Chief Complaint Forms and Care Plans. This all-in-one EHR is fully integrated with HealthFusion’s Practice Management and Clearinghouse solutions and includes a Podiatric module. As the software is online, MediTouch works anywhere with Internet access, and our unique Touch Technology empowers providers to focus on their patients in every office visit.
“Most systems are very rigid, forcing doctors to follow inefficient templates. They often have to leave the room to access a patient’s records or enter data on a stationary computer,” said Dr. Lizerbram. “HealthFusion was founded by physicians, and created with physician input to enhance the practice of medicine and maintain patient workflow. MediTouch actually anticipates physician practice patterns within a flexible framework for custom easy charting. The simple touch screen allows you to maintain eye contact with patients while digitally charting with your fingertip, which is actually faster than writing.”
HealthFusion’s Stimulus Ready® MediTouch EHR assists physicians in complying with meaningful use regulations issued by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of the National Coordinator in order to qualify for the $44,000 Medicare or $64,000 Medicaid cash bonuses established in the 2009 Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act, which is part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The MediTouch Meaningful Use Report Card® feature assists doctors in tracking their progress towards the stimulus funds.
